I don’t know which excited my friend Terry more yesterday: that Microsoft is reportedly dropping the price of the XBox (which will probably mean a price cut for my beloved GameCube as well), or that the price of a Taco Bell’s Grilled Stuft Burrito was dropped to $1.99.

Two links blantantly stolen from boingboing.net:
In Artist’s Freeway Prank, Form Followed Function: Check out this video of the addition an L.A. artist made to an overhead freeway sign. Even cooler than the “High-Profile Sculpture Replacement” prank.
Megachurches as Minitowns: Enormous churches that create “a parallel universe that’s Christianized.” My high school graduation back in Alabama was held in one of those type of churches — it was the only place in town that could seat 4000+ people.

The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. “In the new reality-based series, …witness the transformation of a typical straight type guy from crude and uncultured schmuck into a hip and happening renaissance man at the hands of five fabulously trendy gay men.” Forget the straight guys — my color-blind, fashion-unconcious, two-left-feet gay self needs that kind of help.

Chicago: The Musical
Chicago: The Musical. The first trailer for the upcoming movie has appeared online. It’s hard to get a feel for how it will turn out (besides the fact that director Rob Marshall seems to be channeling the film version of Cabaret) because several secondary characters don’t appear in the trailer.
And while I’m on the subject of musicals, someone’s writing a new stage adaptation of the Stephen King’s CARRIE. Personally I wish the writers of the original musical version would finally get over themselves and let someone professionally record it.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin. A soon-to-be-released film about a college student who falls for a mentally-retarded man she’s helping train for her sorority’s Special Olympics service project (view trailer). According to a reporter from the student paper, the Greek System depicted in the film mirrors the one at my alma mater, DePauw.
