Oops
I upgraded my WordPress installation to the latest 1.5 build and accidentally overwrote the index.php file that contained my site design. Guess I’ll be forced to do that redesign I was contemplating…
Update: Turns out I didn’t overwrite my index.php file after all. The 1.5 Beta of WordPress uses a new “theme” system for templates, which was overriding my index.php file. Until I can port my site design in a “theme,” I’m using this simple hack to use my old index.php file.

Unpacking my Mac Mini
A few minutes ago I got a call from my security guard, who told me a package had just been delivered to me. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was my Mac Mini, which I expected to be delivered on Monday.
Here’s a Flickr series of me unpacking the box. And here’s a much better series of unpacking photos. And Sparky just posted his photo set too.
Surprised to discover:
- There is an tiny indicator light on the front to show power.
- The silver side paneling is a brushed metal.

Mac Mini
Apple did indeed launch a headless Mac (no integrated display) today. And as promised, I went ahead and ordered one. Thanks to my educational discount, I got a little price break and ordered extra RAM, a SuperDrive (to burn DVDs), and integrated bluetooth. Should arrive in about 2 weeks. Mike promised he’ll hold my hand as I explore the big scary world of Macs.
